What’s your go-to cocktail?
Something sweet? Something salty? Something indulgent?
For me, it is a salty/savory cocktail garnished with delightful embellishment - also known as a Dirty Vodka Martini with blue cheese olives.

It has taken much trial and error to perfect this delicious drink at home, but I finally nailed it.
Note - You can also use gin if you prefer! Same recipe, just swap the liquor.
Here’s what you need (per martini):
3oz vodka
Splash of dry vermouth
.5oz olive juice
3 blue cheese stuffed olives
Video tutorial here.
Here’s how to make it:
Start by filling your martini glass with ice (preferably crushed) and fill with water to cool the glass and set aside.
In a cocktail shaker over ice combine your vodka and olive juice.
Once your martini glass looks nice and frosted empty the ice and water from the glass.
Add a splash of vermouth to the bottom of your empty martini glass and swirl around the glass to coat all sides. Dump the access.
Place two or three blue cheese stuffed olives on a toothpick and place them into the martini glass.
Gently shake the ingredients in your cocktail shaker for roughly 10 seconds and pour into your martini glass.
Enjoy!
Make an evening out of it and create a simple charcuterie board at home to pair with your martini for an even more indulgent experience! Here's how to build an epic charcuterie board.
PS - Would you judge me if I said I learned the vermouth “swirl and dump” technique from the film A Simple Favor? Comment below if you remember that scene!
