This may sound like the silliest hack ever, but here it is: Making my food prettier helps me eat healthier.

It's true!
Fruits and veggies are so vibrant in color that incorporating them into meals makes the dish so much more aesthetically pleasing. In turn, helping me eat more "good stuff."
Now, I am fully aware that my hacks may not result in less calories or sugars... However, I have found that incorporating more healthy ingredients into my diet has made my belly so much happier and keeps me full for longer.
Here are a few of my favorite tricks and go-to recipes.
Add fruits & veggies to every meal by making your plate more aesthetically pleasing.
Okay this seriously works! For breakfast try a piece of toast with peanut butter, strawberry or banana slices, a drizzle of your favorite jam, pecans or other nut you like, and sprinkle shredded coconut. Such a pretty concoction that keeps you more full longer because of the added protein.
Spice up your morning bowl of oatmeal by topping it with a drizzle of peanut butter, sliced strawberries, sliced peaches, pecans, and chia seeds.
Need a savory breakfast? Try making a breakfast salad. Toss greens in olive oil, lemon juice, salt and pepper. Top the greens with cooked mushrooms, peppers, avocado, and a fried egg.
Have your dessert, without the guilt.
I literally need dessert. Whatever "diet" or "healthy eating" ritual I may be following, I refuse to let go of a sweet snack after dinner. My hack has been replacing a brownie or slice of cake with a jazzed-up bowl of yogurt. - I know, sounds like the worst. Hear me out.
Grab the yogurt flavor of your choosing, top the yogurt with a few apple slices, sliced almonds, shredded coconut, and chocolate chips. Simple to make and cures a sweet tooth.
Add a simple salad.
I never thought I would say it, but I actually have come to enjoy a little green with my meals. My go-to is a spring lettuce mix tossed in olive oil, lemon juice, sprinkled with salt and pepper, and topped with shredded parmesan cheese. So easy and so good with a steak or pasta dinner.
Drink from a straw.
My last hack is a simple one that helps me drink more water, and that is keeping an insulated water bottle at my desk that has a straw! I swear keeping the water cold and having a straw in it helps me drink more. Here's my current favorite cup.
That's all for now! I hope you found a little inspiration in sprucing up your next meal. Happy eating!
